Violet, Chicago:
I enjoy reading your articles and would like to know if you will be discussing the virtues and passions of the soul. This is seldom written about.

Response:
Dear Violet,

Thank you for the letter and kind words. We will try to put your article in the future, suitable for your interests.

I just discovered your site this morning and want to thank you for the wonderful offerings it contains! I read about the various persons buried in the cemetary and was moved to tears to learn of their struggles! It made me realize all the more how far I must go to even begin serving the Lord to the best of my ability!
I will pass the website along today at Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia parish in Norwich, CT. Please pray for Fr. Basil, Matushka Catherine and all of us who are struggling to keep our parish growing against great trials!
And please continue your efforts to help us all gain strength from our traditions and faith!

NatashaHugoson, Stockholm:
Was very happy to read your letters.
I am Russian orthodox mother. They are: Nataly 26 and my son Attila 28 years.
How can I show the way to my son who is not yet a belivier and is in opposition. But he has a heart of gold and is very well educated, working in EU parlament in Brussele. I Just came from Brussel, to visit them and had a great connection with him.I feel it in my soul and my heart.
Attila speaks 5 languages , but not well Russian. He was born in Lissabon, and lived with his father in Spain and Italy. He never lived in Russia.
How to show him the way to God?
How can I help? How to open their eyes, without preussure and being pushy ... Like mother I am fullfiled now, but not like a believer... Want very much my kids to follow the Gods will and come closer to Russian church...May be I want too much, but I dont see the other way.
They are lost, like all the young generation in the West. Work, happiness, family, friends, pleasure...are their aim in life.
How to show them the real meaning of life? And tell me what is it really...
Can you help me? I have still many questions to ask...But I thank you already for listening and just being there. God help us all!
Sincerely yours,
Natasha

Response:
Dear Natalya,

Thank you for your kind words. I share your understanding and feelings.
I think that a mother's prayer is a strong weapon. Continue to pray so that your children will start believing in God.

With love in Christ,

Inok Vsevolod

Ivan, Moscow:
Dear Fr. Vsevolod,

I very much enjoyed your August 2005 first portion of the Jordanville paterikon: "The Island of Divine Love. The Jordanville Paterikon"

I am Russian-American, currently living and working in Russia. As a child growing up in New York City, I did indeed find the Jordanville Monastery to be an island of divine love during the many summers I spent there as a summer boy - assisting in the daily life of the monastery. After being away from the US for several years, the writing brought back many wonderful memories.

I eagerly await future additions to the paterikon.

God bless,

Ivan

Gday my Dear Fr Vsevolod!

I've been enjoying the Russian Inok and especially the english ISLAND OF DIVINE LOVE. The Cathedral really does look like a ship!

Hope that your journeys in mother Russia will be productive, inspire you and give you an opportunity to also pray for us!

With love in Christ,
Alexander

PS: So good to see that HTM brotherhood photo from 1997 on your site.

Thank you for making these important writings available to English speakers!

I treasure this site. I am "in" the OCA, but I have always been "of" the ROCOR. Jordanville is my spiritual home and refuge from the world.

In Christ,
